Is Global Warming And Climate Change Real?

Posted by on Friday, 9 September, 2011

Imagine the next time you join a discussion about global warming causes. When you start sharing the fascinating global warming facts below, your friends will be absolutely amazed.

Scientists, together with us environmentalists, are constantly warning politicians that time is running up but that doesn’t seem to bother them, especially now in times of recession. Revive economy or save the planet? Scientists and economists can agree with Buddhist monks and Christian activists that ruthless destruction of natural habitats is evil and careful preservation of birds and butterflies is good. The worldwide community of environmentalists-most of whom are not scientists-holds the moral high ground, and is guiding human societies toward a hopeful future. Scientists are human; they do not wait for proof. Many devote their professional lives to seeking evidence for hypotheses, especially well-funded hypotheses, they’ve chosen to believe.

Complex economic tools including computable general equilibrium models, international input-output models and engineering-economic models are used to assess the baseline emission levels and abatement costs for the economies examined. All outcomes suggest that abatement is possible, but will be expensive. Consider the distant past. Two hundred million years ago the earth was much warmer than it is now: dinosaurs roamed the Antarctic, which was then lush and tropical. Could it really be the case that the ‘global warming crisis’ is really as much about careers and power as anything else?

Sometimes the most important aspects of a subject are not immediately obvious. Keep reading to get the complete picture on the causes of global warming.

Global warming could result in rising sea levels and flooding. There could be more powerful storms. Global warming has given birth to a new scramble for territory and resources among the five Arctic powers. Russia was the first to stake its claim in this great Arctic gold rush, in 2001. Global warming becomes a big issue in today’s media. If we read a newspaper or watching news on TV you may read or hear about global warming, what is global warming?

Environmental policies have particularly been difficult to implement because they have historically conflicted with economic goals and the performance evaluations of local officials were tied to GDP targets rather than environmental performance. This appears to be changing energy conservation, is now a pillar economic strategy and, from what I understand, has become a key metric in the promotion evaluations of local officials. Environmentalists claimed the number of scientists supporting the measure was “overwhelming”. That never was true.

Greenhouse gases trap heat energy trying to escape from the planet’s atmosphere. It normally goes out through virtual windows, which are becoming plugged. Greenhouse experiments show that many plants growing in an atmosphere enriched with carbon dioxide react by increasing their root-to-shoot ratio. This means that the plants put more of their growth into roots and less into stems and leaves.

I hope that reading the above information about real global warming issues was both enjoyable and educational for you. Your learning process should be ongoing–the more you understand about any subject, the more you will be able to share with others.

Land Pollution Causes And Solutions

Posted by on Wednesday, 7 September, 2011

Are you looking for some inside information on pollution? Here’s an up-to-date report from pollution experts who should know.

We must protect our environment and save our lives. Support and talk to friends or maybe neighbours on how they can help too. A company spokesman said that, despite its efforts to protect the environment, 85 percent of the pollution from its operations comes from attacks and sabotage carried out by criminal bands operating in the Niger Delta. The seller will say that the proper approach is to consider what represents a fair allocation of environmental risk in the transaction. Whether or not liability arises may depend on future changes in law and practice.

Metals such as cadmium and lead can have adverse effects on human and animal health if they are allowed to accumulate in the food chain. The occurrence of high concentrations of heavy metals in agricultural top soils is generally very localized. Contamination may be due to high levels of heavy metals, organic substances and other potentially harmful compounds. Levels of these contaminants may, in certain circumstances, be harmful to people or the environment. Sulphur dioxide also results from various metallurgical and chemical processes.

Is everything making sense so far? If not, I’m sure that with just a little more reading, all the pollution facts will fall into place.

What we can do is minimize the grade of land pollution that caused by industries cesspool like last processing the cesspool before it threw away. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has a number of pollution prevention programs, including legislation, regulation and incentives that are designed to prevent land pollution. Some programs are designed to educate manufacturers on industrial processes that prevent pollution by saving energy. Topics also include climate change, land pollution, environmental health, car pollution and more.

Land pollution is a global problem and affected the lives of millions of people and caused several deaths and health problems. Land pollution contains noticeable trash and waste along with the soil itself being polluted. Ways to help companies reduce industrial land pollution include supporting those organizations that are actively seeking to reduce waste and voting for laws that restrict or heavily punish companies that are not in compliance with environmental regulations.

Land pollution is such a big issue because the earth is where we live – and if we don’t take care of our land what will happen to human nature? What kind of world would we live in? If the state would step in and force the law I believe that land pollution could be reduced considerably. If we do not take action soon all the activities that we enjoy on a day to day basis will not be possible because the land we live on and enjoy will be so polluted that it will be dangerous to go around it. Land pollution is the polluting of Earths natural land surface. This is caused by things such as chemical and nuclear plants, Industrial factories, oil, mining, littering, overcrowded landfills and deforestation.

Now might be a good time to write down the main points covered above. The act of putting it down on paper will help you remember what’s important about pollution.

What Is Global Warming And Can We Save The Planet?

Posted by on Tuesday, 6 September, 2011

If you’re seriously interested in knowing about the natural causes of global warming, you need to think beyond the basics. This informative article takes a closer look at things you need to know about global warming.

Carbon capture and sequestration at coal-fired power plants might raise costs for electricity as little as one to three cents per kilowatt-hour, according to a special report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. These incremental costs imply far less than 1 percent of the world’s annual income to convert to a clean power grid.

Climate change poses, above all, the problem of the unpredictability of climate patterns: 40C one month, -20C the following one, a hurricane today and a drought for the following five years. No patterns anymore, and there is no way to grow anything with those conditions, if we talk about agriculture. Climate model projections summarized by the IPCC indicate that average global surface temperature will continue to rise during the 21st century by 1.1C to 6.4C.

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

Such global warming will cause sea level to rise, and is expected to increase the intensity of extreme weather events and to change the amount/pattern of precipitation. Climate change is the greatest environmental challenge facing the world today. Rising global temperatures will bring changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels and increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather.

Carbon is burned in far too many places–vehicles, factories, homes, fields–to effectively track even if there were an international monitoring system. Trading also became a huge source of contention between industrial and developing countries. Carbon dioxide has a much longer residence time in the atmosphere, until it is either used up in photosynthesis or absorbed in rain or oceans. Carbon dioxide produced today will remain in the atmosphere for around 100 years and we are already committed to a certain level of warming.

Climate theories are hard to test because they usually depend on computer models, which are theories in themselves. Today, most climatologists agree that the theory of anthropogenic global warming has survived challenges and testing against data from many sources. Climate change is the greatest environmental challenge facing the world today. Rising global temperatures will bring changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels and increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather.

Is there really any information about the natural causes of global warming that is nonessential? We all see things from different angles, so something relatively insignificant to one may be crucial to another.

Looking at What Was Achieved At The Copenhagen Global Warming Conference

Posted by on Sunday, 4 September, 2011

Recently there was a summit in Copenhagen, Denmark that was meant to discuss a resolution that needed to be made to deal with the consequences of carbon emissions and climate change. 192 nations came together to try to provide a solution to the issue and that was quite the event. Can you imagine the effort and will-power of having 192 countries all together making an attempt to come up with a plan that requires spending untold billions of dollars and trying to get everybody to agree on how best to spend it?

Go green with retread tires.

There had been one point during the summit where some of the developing nations all over the world walked out of the negotiations because they felt that their interests were not being addressed as much as the larger, more developed countries. They finally came back to the table but it definitely made things more difficult to get a consensus.

Global warming activists from every part of the world also converged on Copenhagen in the summit and they objected and called for action every day of the conference. Many of them were held for being a little too in your face and there were plenty of scuffles with the police through the length of the event. Many people feel really dedicated to the subject of global warming and that’s understandable.

Climate change threatens our existence on this planet if you recognise all the issues that it presents to us. When you couple that with world figures who are hesitant to change, it becomes comprehensible that folks who feel strongly about this could do everything that they can to insure that progress is made.

Almost all of those people were searching for a legally enforceable agreement to come out of this conference, but that wasn’t accomplished. Sadly consensus couldn’t be reached between all of the nations. The US did put forth what came to be known as the Copenhagen Accord that looks like it’s going to be the center-piece of the process going forward.

Some leaders hailed this as a great start, while the others are calling it a “toothless failure.” The deal was basically worked out between the US, China, and a few other bigger more developed nations. President Barak Obama made an appearance at the conference, but that was about it. He came in and worked with some of the other states and had a resolution drafted. That was pretty much it. Then the conference agreed to recognize the accord, but there was not a vote or anything approaching a legally binding agreement.

It’s unfortunate to see that when we have got some real problems that we are facing in the world that could affect the existence of humans on this planet in the not-too-distant future and statesmen seem to be busy playing mind games and trying to score points over other states. The way this conference worked, the most important and most powerful nations in the world came in and imposed their will on the rest of the world and then walked out. This sort of behaviour isn’t going to clear up any of the problems on the planet. We can’t talk our way out of the situation that we have with planetary warming.

What Is Land Pollution And Can It Be Prevented?

Posted by on Sunday, 4 September, 2011

This interesting article addresses some of the key issues regarding land pollution. A careful reading of this material could make a big difference in how you think about pollution issues.

Yet another type of pollution is the land pollution. Agricultural chemicals, sewage effluents, chemical discharges from industry, mining and construction activities have denuded the surface of earth. The instructor talked about tides and how land pollution is brought into the river and will be carried all the way down to the Atlantic Ocean. The kids got to see how this works using their 5′ river and land model. Water pollution, land pollution and air pollution are the major pollutions around the world.

Discuss the pictures of water, air and land pollution. Have students identify what is wrong in each of the pictures displayed. Land Pollution: Land pollution from industrial activities result from both the direct discharge and disposal of solid wastes by industries on land and the careless disposal of industrial products and products containers.

If your land pollution facts are out-of-date, how will that affect your actions and decisions? Make certain you don’t let important pollution information slip by you.

Solid waste can become toxic especially if they contain chemicals like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and toxic metals as already reported in huge refuse dumps that now adorn our urban cities. Besides air pollution and water pollution, the urban life style of man also causes land pollution. The large amount of waste produced in order to support modern man’s urban life style has lead to an alarming increase in land pollution.

Industrial activities also are a contributing factor to land pollution. For example, in open cast mining, huge holes are dug in the ground and these form dangerously deep mining pools. If everybody follows this rule, undoubtedly this planet has no the matter about the air pollution, water pollution, and land pollution. It is understood that the battery has reached 18 billion annually, about 850,000 tons each year, a black garbage, and used batteries can be a result of 60 litres of water, 1.6 square meters of land pollution. Staff said that they do so can reduce the pollution of used batteries, in order to contribute to environmental protection, but also to enhance public awareness of environmental protection.

People only think of air/water/land pollution when they say ‘pollution”. Yet when I tried to sleep outside under the stars in the woods around my house the other night, I could not sleep because of too many aircraft ahead flying. Garbage is also another cause of land pollution. Humans produce tons of garbage each year. Used batteries to the rivers, lakes, groundwater, land pollution threaten human health, damage to the living environment of mankind. Hazardous wastes listed in these documents are included in the battery with those of raw materials harmful compounds.

It never hurts to be well-informed with the latest issues surrounding pollution. Compare what you’ve learned here to future articles so that you can stay alert to changes in the area of land pollution.

Creating Your Own Solar Panel System

Posted by on Thursday, 1 September, 2011

Everyone these days is conscious of the issues of climate change, or as the boffins used to call it, global warming. It appears that even those people who call themselves experts do not know what is taking place. It is not very heartening. However, what everyone does know, even without self-styled expert advice, is that the rate that we are using fossil fuel up is unsustainable, that that means that prices will go up and that it looks like the West is on the slippery slope.

So, what can we do about that? People are looking for leadership and help to reduce their dependency on traditional sources of energy like the national power grid and the petrol station, but the people that are in charge of these resources are loathe to give any real advice lest they lose their grip on society. People are beginning to want to make themselves less dependent on the traditional power suppliers and would like to go it alone. Unfortunately, most people do not know where to turn for advice, but they have some vague idea about putting up their own solar panels.

However, without any easily understandable government subsidy or advice, people are left to do their best unaided. And the fact is that the professional installation of your own solar panels is expensive. It costs thousands of Dollars, Euros or Pounds, wherever you are, which is why some people are looking into a do-it-yourself (DIY) solar energy system.

Unfortunately, without any appropriate guidance, home-made solar panels will barely run a low energy light bulb in the midday sun. A better way is to buy a self-assembly kit from a decent company and put it together yourself, following their instructions. After all, we all know that the labour constituent of any job is often equal to or more than the cost of the parts being installed. These kits come with everything you have to have to install your own solar panels.

These self assembly solar power packages are well put together and the instructions are normally well written and easy to follow. However, it is worth buying from one of the better known, big companies like GE, although you can do this from a website that specializes in home sustainable energy systems.

You might like to turn the assembly of a couple of of your own solar power units into a family venture, because that will teach the younger members of the family about how valuable energy conservation is and introduce them to electronics.

These home solar panel systems are wholly expandable, so you do not have to deprive yourself of that new dishwasher, although the fact is that modern appliances are using less power than their older equivalents did.

Just imagine if you had a bank of your own solar panels and you became 50% independent of the national grid. And then you put in a few more panels when you had the time and in due course became totally independent of the grid! And then you started adding a few more and were in point of fact selling electricity back into the grid. It is all feasible when you have your own solar panels.

Climate Modification In Certain Areas On The Globe

Posted by on Friday, 19 August, 2011

It is usually the less developed countries that are most affected by negative world developments. This is also true for third world and climate modification.

About Third World and Climate Modification

Climate modification affects the whole world. That being said, is it possible to predict specific results in certain regions of the world? There is no sure answer to that yet, but much interest is directed towards the effects in Asia and Africa. Let’s take a look.

Africa is considered a third world continent because a vast majority of the African countries have underdeveloped economies and living standards. Africa is sadly one of the most affected areas when it comes to climate modification. More than half the people in Africa live in rural areas with agricultural economies. These communities rely heavily on naturally occurring rain resources and planned irrigation is minimal. This can also lead to famines. Africa is predicted to be damaged by climate modification since the greenhouse effect would probably reduce the amount of rain in that area. And as the Sahara Desert expands, there will be less land for farming, which will only worsen the problem. This will lead to malnutrition, weak immunity, and diseases. If all these will come true, then it’ll be a nightmare in Africa.

Climate modification could devastate Asia as well. You might be surprised to learn that over 60 percent of the human population lives in greater Asia. This mass of humanity has stretched agricultural and health resources to the maximum. To top it off, large population centres sit right on the coastline in flat areas only a few feet above sea level.

If the climate modification worsens, the sea might swallow large chunks of Asia. Cities such as Jakarta, Tokyo and Bangkok sit at sea level. If the melting polar caps really would cause the sea level to rise three feet, then these cities will be underwater. Countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia and Bangladesh are expected to lose 37,000 square miles of coastline under a similar situation. Over 34 million people will suddenly have to move to already congested population centres. Economies, health care and food supplies will undoubtedly reach critical levels.

Is there any good news when discussing the third world and climate modification? Yes, there actually is. The first step is to put regulations in place that reduce greenhouse gases. Second, there should be some proactive planning to prevent the dreaded effects of climate modification.

Following And Predicting The Evolving Weather In Sydney

Posted by on Tuesday, 16 August, 2011

Making an accurate prediction about the weather in Sydney is an important job. There are people who plan their entire day around the weather, and feel that their lives are ruined if the weather report is wrong. The person who is predicting the Sydney weather can be viewed as a hero or a villain, depending on how accurate the weather report happened to be on a given day.

Anyone who has ever been fascinated about the weather might want to consider a job as meteorologist One common mistake people often make is thinking that a meteorologist and weather people are the exact same thing. This is not the case. The only thing a weather person does is tell their viewers what the weather is, a meteorologist studies a variety of factors and uses what they observe to predict upcoming weather patterns. Becoming a meteorologist requires a specialized education and a genuine love of weather.

A surprising number of people think that they would like to become a meteorologist but do not seem to have any idea about what a meteorologist really is or what they do. Some people even seem to think that meteorologist just guess. The truth is that a professional meteorologist is a serious scientist with an extensive education. The Bureau of Meteorology is an excellent source of information for all things connected to meteorology in Australia

The broadcasting of weather is the responsibility of the Bureau of Meteorology In addition to forecasting the weather in Sydney, the Bureau also forecasts the weather for the entire country as well. The Bureau forecasts the weather and than sends their findings to the local and national news channels.

The Bureau of Meteorology falls under the jurisdiction of the Australian government. The government first established the organization during 1906. It was another two years before the Bureau was finally ready to start making forecasts. Today the Bureau does more than just study the weather patterns, they provide the Australian news stations with Radiofax.

The website for the bureau is a treasure trove of information for anyone who is interested in becoming a meteorologist In addition to having an enormous library of information, they also have job listings. A quick skim through the job listings is a great way to determine the potential job future for meteorologist as well as how much money a meteorologist can expect to earn each year.

The weather is not the only thing that the Bureau does. Anyone who is planning on going out on a boat will find that they can get all sorts of information from the Bureau, information that can help the boater decide if the water is going to be safe, or if they should plan on spending the day on land. The Bureau is an excellent place to find out the forecast for seasonal water flow, determine if there is a Tsunami warning, risks of flooding, and tides.

It is important to remember that predicting the weather in Sydney, while important, can be a thankful job. People tend to think that the meteorologist is directly responsible for the weather. After several days of bad weather it is not unusual for people to start blaming the person who is making the predictions.

What Dou Mean Green?

Posted by on Monday, 15 August, 2011

Everybody has heard a lot of buzz these days about “Going Green.” This concept has raised a lot of questions in my head like “What does this mean?” and “How and why would you go green?”

To go green, in a nutshell means doing whatever it takes to keep the planet clean. There are individuals I call “green freaks” who are always in your face and that’s all they talk about. They are extremely annoying and they make me want to do the opposite of going green, whatever that might look like.

Of course, debates often rise as to what is considered good and clean for the planet. I don’t understand how recycling aluminum will help keep the environment clean and green.

I definitely get the idea of going green to save money, whether it’s saving money by not running water or having an alternative to plastic or aluminum. I’m all for saving money, and I will do these things if it helps me do so, however, I don’t really see how it helps clean the planet.

Those freaks I mentioned a little bit ago often refuse to take taxis, jets and other types of vehicles because they’re supposedly polluting the air. First of all, my thinking is if these things are going to be used anyway, why not use them? You can get places faster and more conveniently, be more productive and save money. Why would you possible turn that down?

All that being said, I definitely understand doing things that people may consider going green, but if it’s has anything to do with fighting global warming or climate change, I believe we’re wasting our time, money and energy. I can’t even convince myself for split second that by taking a taxi club or flying across the country that I’m contributing to making the planet significantly hotter or colder. It just doesn’t make any sense.

Now that all that is out of the way, I want to take a shot at answering the questions from the beginning of this post. Question: What exactly does going green mean? Answer: Doing whatever it takes to keep the environment clean to fight global warming, or something like that.

Question: How do you go green? There are so many suggested ways, and I can’t even scrape the surface. Use less gas and energy, recycle, etc. Google it.

Question: Why go green? Answer: My opinion is that it’s a great way to save money. If you’re within walking distance of work or school, walk or ride a bike. This will help save money on gas and some say it will help fight global warming.

Defining Climate Change

Posted by on Monday, 15 August, 2011

When you start to have a look at global warming it can be quite overpowering to get a good grip on what’s actually going on with the subject. There is a flood of information pertaining to the topic and many people are at odds about it. Either way however , I do not believe that it’s such a very bad idea to want to take better care of the planet and its resources. With that being said, we’ll have a look at climate change and some general ideas about the subject to try and generally give you an introduction to what global warming is and how it’s different from climate change.

Global warming is precisely what it sounds like. It’s the warming of the average temperature of the world’s atmosphere as well as the troposphere. These tiny changes in the temperature of the planet can cause dramatic changes in worldwide climate patterns. Planetary warming can be caused from natural events like seismic and volcanic activity as well as from human causes such as burning carbon-based fuels.

Tire retreads are a green option instead of normal tires. Buy cheap tires.

Climate change is beginning to become the preferable term and one of the largest reasons for that is that there are more things that are taking place to the climate besides just the warming up of the atmosphere.

These changes aren’t new to the planet. We have had climate change before. The earth has gone thru ice ages before and that’s one of the largest arguments of those individuals who say that planetary warming is a myth. Some of this can be attributed to natural changes in our atmosphere, but the science is there to support the assumption that burning fossil fuels and deforestation has a clear effect on the rising temperature on the planet.

It is the burning of these fossil fuels and deforestation that create what are known as Carbon emissions. Carbon emissions basically collect up around the top of our atmosphere. We need them to some degree because they hold in heat and are what keeps our world warm. When their concentrations become too high, they don’t let enough heat out and that causes our atmosphere to heat up.

According to reports, the average surface temperature of the earth has risen between 1.2 and 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit over the last 100 years. Now this may not seem like much, but you have got to understand that our planet is an exceedingly complex ecological system that’s accustomed to regularity and these kinds of changes become magnified when they are spread out through the whole planet.

We have been seeing the consequences of global temperature increases for many years in the form of glaciers liquefying, lengthening of growing seasons for many species of plants, trees blooming sooner than they used to, ice forming on lakes and brooks not being there for as long as it used to be and many others.

Whether you think planetary warming is a parable or not, these changes that are happening to our planet are certain. It may take 100 or even more years for things to get very bad from where we are at present, but that doesn’t mean that we should pay no attention to the problem and hope that it will go away.
